Christmas Card: Craken Edge and Chinley Churn

Craken Edge and Chinley Churn I see them every day when I make the school run to Peak School. They change day by day. They look particularly good in the snow. My son loves going walking up Craken Edge, he seems to have a particular affinity with it.

However the Chimney you see on the right has now been demolished (within the last few weeks) so no longer forms part of the landscape. It was a reminder of the historical industrial landscape as the forge it served was sited next to the Peak Forest Tramway. It started off as an Iron Forge, then a Bleach works where many local people worked and then by Dorma and finally closed in 2005 so I believe.
